Tuesday June 24, turned into a very memorable night for the Minor Midget London Tecumsehs.
They were home to a Major Midget team from St. Thomas in a regular season LDBA game, 8:30 start at Dan Pulham Field. What started as a typical mid-season regular season matchup, ended in fireworks!
The Tecumsehs had led most of the game, but a couple late rally’s by St. Thomas had the Minor Midget’s entering the bottom of the 7th trailing 7-4. The first 3 batters reached on singled, when Lucas O’Neil hit a 2-RBI double to left. With still no one out, then next batter walked, paving the way for Ash O’Connor. Against his former team, down by 1 run, Ash took a called strike 1. On the next pitch, he ripped a bomb to right, a no doubter, hitting high off the backstop of the diamond next door, beyond the right field fence.
