Team EPIC Captures LTBC Trophy
Congratulations to the London Tecumseh Minor Peewees who captured the tournament championship this past weekend at Stronach Arena.  After returning home from Cooperstown, there was no rest to be had, as the Tecumsehs were participating in the 2nd Annual LTBC Tournament.  With a field of 12 teams from across Ontario, it ended with an all London final as the London Tecumsehs defeated the North London Nationals to capture the title.

The Tecumsehs were on point all weekend as they finished with a perfect 5 and 0 record and displayed exceptional pitching, defence, and hitting.

The weekend started off with a great pitching duel between the Tecumsehs Blake Conners and the Simcoe Giants.  That was followed up by another pitching gem as Nigel Mason and Landyn Jamieson combined on a shutout of the East York Bulldogs.  Finishing off the round robin portion was Logan Peddell and Jayden Valle as they held the Burlington Bulls bats in check for another victory.

On Sunday morning, Eric Picken captured the game MVP with a shutout in the semi-final rematch with the Simcoe Giants.  Then onto the finals where Logan Peddell, tournament MVP, returned to the mound and pitched a complete game for the victory.  The finals ended on a pinch-hit walk-off single by Leland Gooder, which couldn’t have happened at a better time as the skies opened up and the rain came down in buckets.

Not to be outdone were the big bats of Brady David and Will Snider who were mashing the ball all tourney.  Stellar defence was also a major contributor to the team’s success as our 2B/OF combo of Luke Millar and Tyler Cabral flashed the leather all weekend.  We also witnessed a breakout performance by Logan Merritt, game #3 MVP, as he put together one of the best all-around displays of hitting and defence.

Congrats to all the boys (12-Strong) and of course a big thank-you to the LTBC for organizing such a great tournament.  And many thanks to all the parents, grandparents, siblings, and fans that cheered us on through the heat wave!
